Loved my XV diesel. Very comfortable, nippy and awesome in the mountains, great fuel economy, a beast in the snow and awesome off the beaten track. Also got to test the 5 star rating in a head-on crash when a French driver decided he liked the oncoming traffic lane better.... I walked away without a scratch. LOVE Subaru!! My current one is an Outback.

Not just slow but not a good buy. Buy another car if you need a diesel with a little power. These Boxerdiesels are notoriously bad made. Bad injectors diesel particular filters that are clogged up broken crankshafts due to worn crankshaft bearings When these engines got the Emission Level 5 it got a little better. But still if you wanna buy a Subaru and don't drive that much anyway get a Gasoline/Petrol version!

@Outdoor Fun wut??100 kph max? here in Europe even in places with speed limits you can do 140 kph without getting in any trouble. 100 seems very low for modern cars, almost b-road level.
@Ahmad Rustam I haven't tried the top speed. Using winter tires rated at 195 kmh. But I'm sure it would go to 215 kmh. Maybe 230, but it will drag wind too much. Our highway are 100 kmh max. Going 215 kmh = suspended license for 1 or 2 years and a few thousound s dollar. Then the insurance will cost more... not worth it. Rather go off road with my crosstrek.

I owned 2009 Outback it had 5 gears and could not go more then 200 km/h. Now I'm driving 2015 outback with cvt transmission, it can not go more then 200km/h. They have a limiter :( Thanks for sharing the video :)

Wäre kein Auto für mich - sieht von der Form halt typ. japanisch aus, also so als käme das Ding direkt vom Mond - und alleine bis der mal auf 200 kommt, da bist Du ja schon in Rente. Vor allem auf den heutigen Autobahnen, wo jedes Mal wenn Du gerade so 200 oder 250 hast, dann jemand auf der linken Spur mit 110 fährt - da macht so ein Ding gar keinen Spaß.
Geil..so einen 116er Sauger hätte ich auch gerne..sind halt schwer zu finden leider. Der Diesel mit gechippten 190PS ist auch angenehm zum fahren..vorallem sparsam
@VentoCZ einen 97er Facelift Kombi, mit dem 2.0L Sauger. 116Ps, die gehen aber wenigstens nicht kaputt solange der Öl bekommt. 😂 und einen ganz neuen, also 18er Baujahr. Mit dem 1.6er. Der macht zumindest seine Arbeit und bringt einen sicher von A nach B. Aber ein Rennauto ist das nicht :D deinen hab ich im Video gesehen!

@Basti ja, man muss leider etwas investieren bevor man damit Autobahn ballern will. Aber die sind für kurvige Landstraßen gemacht und hängen dort auch ohne Probleme viel Stärkere Autos ab :D

We have a Forester wagon diesel and it's terrible. Really nasty gear change - and this one sounds the same. Cable change - awful.....

I don't think it is slow. 4WD, crossover, weight... It's fast enough for what this car has been designed to.
Then try Renault koleos mod 2008, 2L 150hp diesel, can't even reach 190

It accelerates quite well up to 160, even 180. There's no need to driver 200 on this car, wanna ride 200+ buy Legacy, or WRX.
